Artsem LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Artsem.ai marketplace. This section describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the Artsem App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

5.1 Information We Collect

To provide our AI-driven marketplace services, we collect information directly from your Shopify account via authorized APIs:

Revenue & Earnings — Out of Scope

Our current permissions do not grant access to your store's total revenue, monthly earnings, or aggregate financial reports. We only access active checkout sessions, product reviews, and stored payment mandates needed to track Artsem-referred sales. To view revenue data, Order or Report-level permissions would be required — permissions we deliberately do not request.

Customer Personal Information

We request access to protected customer data, including names and email addresses, for the following essential operational reasons:

  • •Cross-Platform Synchronization: This data allows us to securely link a shopper's profile on the Artsem.ai marketplace with their corresponding customer profile on your individual Shopify store. This ensures a unified shopping experience and accurate account management.
  • •Transaction & Lifecycle Tracking: Because payment processors (such as Stripe) often do not provide granular customer identity data to third-party marketplaces, we must access this information directly from Shopify to track the full lifecycle of a purchase.
  • •Returns & Reconciliation: We use this data to monitor if a shopper returns an item before the end of a billing cycle. This allows us to accurately calculate net commissions and ensure that you are only billed for successful, kept purchases.
  • •Attribution Integrity: Without this data, we cannot verify if a marketplace referral resulted in a final sale, leading to potential discrepancies in your store's analytics and billing.

Transaction Data

We view order details and checkout information to calculate commissions and verify successful referrals from the Artsem marketplace.

Interaction Data

Through our Checkout and Post-Purchase UI Extensions, we collect data on how customers interact with Artsem-branded elements to improve our AI's matching accuracy.

Review Data

We access product reviews to better categorize apparel and enhance the “AI Marketplace” discovery experience.

5.2 Why We Collect This Information

We use the data collected for the following essential business purposes:
